AND NOW, this 15^th day of January, 2003, upon consideration of the Petition of the Judicial Conduct Board for an Interim Order Directing the Suspension of the above- named Judicial Officer Without Pay, the Answer of Respondent to the Petition, the Amended Petition and Respondent’s Answer thereto, and upon consideration of the Legal Memoranda filed by the Judicial Conduct Board and the Respondent as well as of the Supplemental Brief of Respondent and the Reply Brief of the Judicial Conduct Board, and after oral argument, it is hereby ORDERED that:

1.   The Petition of the Judicial Conduct Board for an Interim Order Directing the Suspension of a Judicial Officer Without Pay is hereby granted.

2.   Pursuant to the authority of Article V, §18(d)(2) of the Pennsylvania Constitution, Judge Joseph A. Jaffe is hereby SUSPENDED WITHOUT PAY from the date of this Order until further Order of this Court.

3.   The medical benefits of the Respondent shall not be suspended during the effectiveness of this Interim Order.
