. . Past Judge Dawson R. Muth ---
Judge Dawson R. Muth, Esquire was the first Magisterial District Judge appointed to the Court of Judicial Discipline. Judge Muth was appointed by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in August of 1993. He was elected District Justice for the Borough of West Chester in 1987, was re-elected in 1993 and served ten years until he resigned in 1998 to commence the private practice of law.

During his tenure as District Justice, in addition to earning a law degree from Widener University School of Law, Judge Muth served as President of the Chester County Special Judges' Association in 1996 and was a member of the Special Court Judges' Association of Pennsylvania. Judge Muth served on the Board of Directors of Chester County Mental Health/Mental Retardation, the Police Athletic League of Greater West Chester and the Goodfellowship Ambulance Club. He was an instructor for the Pennsylvania State Constables' Education and Training Program and the Pennsylvania Deputy Sheriffs' Continuing Education Program.

Judge Muth is an active trial lawyer with a busy criminal defense and personal injury practice. He is a partner in the Law Firm of Goldberg, Meanix & Muth in West Chester. Judge Muth is the Solicitor for the Chester County Sheriff's Office and the Berks County Magisterial District Judges.

Judge Muth is married to Bethann D. Muth and they reside in West Chester with their two sons, Patrick and Christopher.
