Judge Lawrence J. O'Toole
Judge O'Toole is a 1972 graduate of LaSalle University with B.S. and a 1975 graduate of Duquesne University School of Law. Judge O'Toole was a former Assistant Public Defender. He was an attorney for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. After Liberty Mutual Insurance Company Judge O'Toole was self employed. Judge O'Toole was lead counsel for numerous death penalty trials in Allegheny County. He was an attorney for approximately 20 years.
Judge O'Toole was nominated by Governor Robert Casey to a seat on the Court of Common Pleas. Judge O'Toole was elected to a full term in November of 1993. Judge O'Toole sits currently in the Criminal Division of the Court of Common Pleas.
Judge O'Toole was appointed to the Court of Judicial Discipline in August of 2004. Judge O'Toole is a member of the State Conference of Trial Judges and is the former supervising judge of the Allegheny County Grand Jury. Judge O'Toole was a former member of the Board of Governors at the Pennsylvania Association of Trial Lawyers. Prior to his service on the bench, Judge O'Toole was a member of the Board of Managers of Shuman Center.
Judge O'Toole is married to Cynthia Marino O'Toole.
