Judge William H. Lamb
On August 16, 2005, Governor Edward G. Rendell appointed Judge William H. Lamb to serve a four-year term on the Court of Judicial Discipline.
Judge Lamb serves as the Chairman of Lamb McErlane PC, of West Chester, Pennsylvania, where he oversees the Firm's Post-Trial and Advocacy Group. He returned to the firm on January 5, 2004, after serving a one-year appointment as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. Judge Lamb previously worked as Assistant District Attorney, District Attorney, and Special Prosecutor in Chester County, PA. Among his many achievements, most gratifying are the two Awards of Merit he received from the Pennsylvania State Police for his prosecution of the Johnston Brothers case, a murder trial in which he obtained 14 first-degree murder convictions against the Johnston Brothers, and the Ancell Hamm case, which found Ancell Hamm guilty of the double murder of two police officers.
Recently, Judge Lamb was appointed by President George W. Bush to the President's Advisory Committee on the Arts, a national advisory board of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
An active member of numerous professional associations, Judge Lamb remains involved in several state judicial committees. He was appointed by the Chief Justice of Pennsylvania, Ralph J. Cappy, to lead the Alternative Dispute Resolution ("ADR") initiative for the Court, and as part of that effort, he chairs the Medical Malpractice Task Force for the Supreme Court. In addition, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania appointed him to serve as the Court Liaison to its Investment Advisory Board.
A cum laude graduate of both the University of Pennsylvania Law School and Duke University, he began practicing law as an associate at Dechert after serving as a law clerk to The Honorable John C. Bell, Chief Justice of Pennsylvania, for one-year. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, in the U.S. Supreme Court, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the Federal District and Circuit Courts for the Third Circuit, the Courts of Chester County, the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, and the Tax Court of the United States. Judge Lamb has more than 35 years of legal experience.
