President Judge Emeritus Robert P. Horgos
Judge Horgos resides in Sewickley Hills, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Villanova University and Villanova University School of Law. Judge Horgos served as Assistant Public Defender for Allegheny County, Assistant District Attorney for Allegheny County, Assistant County Solicitor for Allegheny County, and Solicitor for the Clerk of Courts of Allegheny County. In 1981, Judge Horgos was elected to the House of Representatives and served on the Judiciary Committee. In 1983, he was elected to the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas and was retained in 1993. Judge Horgos is assigned to the civil division serving as complex litigation judge for asbestos, toxic torts and class action suits. Judge Horgos has belonged to numerous professional, civic and charitable organizations. He was appointed to the Pennsylvania Court of Judicial Discipline by the Supreme Court on November 28, 2000.
